Cohesion and Rhythm

When people say they like the way something is written, they often claim that the writing “flows.” Conversely, when people are not happy with the way something is written, they often claim that the writing “does not flow.” But what does flow mean?

More often than not, when we discuss “flow” in the context of written work, we are talking about cohesion and rhythm within and between sentences. The following presentation discusses these concepts and how to revise with them in mind.
